Customer Advisory: Implementation of Emergency Cost Recovery Surcharge (ECRS)

03 May 2024

Dear Valued Customers,

Starting May 15, 2024, CargoGulf will introduce Emergency Cost Recovery Surcharges (ECRS) for pre-paid and collect shipments.

Background

The major transshipment ports in Southeast Asia are currently experiencing severe congestion, leading to extensive berth delays and prolonged port stays resulting to significant delays in vessel arrivals. In response to these challenges, VO's has implemented various contingency plans, including multiple omissions and speeding up of vessels, to uphold schedule integrity and ensure adequate service coverage. Despite these efforts, vessels have incurred substantial increases in operational costs.

Implementation details

Effective May 15th, 2024 and until further notice, CargoGulf will apply ECRS rates:

  • USD 100/teu for shipments from Asia to the Middle East
  • USD 75/teu for shipments from Asia to Sri Lanka / Maldives

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period of operational adjustments. For more information, contact us at linerdocs@gac.com

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,

CargoGulf Inc.
